Active Silicon computer vision products are supported by a variety of software tools. We provide powerful user software and SDKs for CoaXPress and Camera Link frame grabbers with support across several operating systems. Additionally, a wide range of drivers for third-party machine vision and scientific imaging packages are available.
For our Harrier and BlueBird products we offer SDKs for USB and IP video application developers. Also available are camera control software for Harrier cameras, for the Tamron MP3010M-EV and for the Sony FCB-EV9520L and -EV9500L.
ActiveCapture is the front-end software for Active Silicon FireBird frame grabbers. The GenICam GenTL software is designed to support all CoaXPress and Camera Link cameras and allows users to access and control cameras and frame grabbers in a clear and intuitive way.
Harvester GUI (Active Silicon fork) is a high-performance GenICam compliant image data visualization tool that we recommend to use in Linux environments in combination with our FireBird frame grabbers and CoaXPress cameras. With the help of a GenTL Producer, this GUI displays acquired images. A feature browser window allows manipulation of GenICam feature nodes of camera and frame grabber.
ActiveSDK is designed for OEMs and integrators using FireBird CoaXPress and Camera Link frame grabbers. It contains comprehensive example applications and optimized libraries for a variety of operating systems. The API (application programming interface) is consistent across operating systems and hardware platforms allowing easy migration.
A GenICam compliant driver package is provided with all Active Silicon’s FireBird frame grabbers. This GenICam Producer supports applications that use GenAPI, GenTL, GenCP or CLProtocol protocols.
All Active Silicon FireBird interface cards are compatible with NVIDIA’s GPUDirect™ for Video. Our well documented API and SDK sample code allow for easy integration of parallel computing techniques on standard computer hardware.

VisionPro® driver for Active Silicon’s frame grabbers – All CoaXPress and Camera Link boards from our FireBird range are compatible with the Cognex VisionPro® Software.
Active Silicon’s acquisition cards are compatible with a number of leading third party applications. Compatible software packages include A&B Software’s ActiveGeni, di-soric Imaging’s nVISION, Mathworks’ MATLAB, Metlogix’s M3, MVTec’s HALCON, Norpix’s Streampix, Optronis’ TimeViewer, PhotonLines’ EyeMotion, Stemmer Imaging’s Common Vision Blox and Zebra’s Aurora Vision Studio and Library,.
The Harrier IP Example Software has been developed for use with Harrier IP camera interface board based products. The examples show how to add text/graphical overlays to the live video stream and send VISCA commands from Harrier IP interface board the to the camera via the ONVIF media service. For other IP based products please refer to to the ONVIF specification for camera control.
The Harrier USB SDK and example applications have been developed for use with Harrier and BlueBird products that support USB video. Based on Microsoft Media Foundation, it enables rapid development of Windows USB Video Class (UVC) applications for UVC compatible products (e.g. BlueBird SDI Adapter, Harrier USB/HDMI Camera Interface Board).
The USB devices browser USBView.exe from Microsoft is a free Windows graphical UI app and a useful tool to browse all USB controllers and connected USB devices on a computer.
The HarrierControl Camera Software is a Windows 10 test/evaluation tool suite that enables easy VISCA communication with Harrier camera interface boards and Harrier/Oriole cameras. It supports VISCA communications over TTL/RS-232/RS-485/COM ports/USB, and can be used to configure the custom camera support on the Harrier USB/HDMI Camera Interface Board.
The Tamron MP3010M camera control software implements a simple graphical user interface that enables you to easily query and control Tamron cameras. It uses a COM port to send or read VISCA communication with the camera over the serial interface.
The Sony FCB-EV9500 and EV9520L camera control software allows you to easily query/control a Sony FCB-EV9500 or FCB-EV9520L block camera.
